back from hiding!

Hey friends!

I am still here, breathing and well. I am still very pregnant., LOL. 36 weeks today actually. 4 weeks to due date, and I am getting very anxious for this little guy to arrive!

We have been VERY busy trying to get the nursery together, pretty much done. remodel the upstairs bathroom, enclose a 3 season porch off the nursery, and get fence in back. UGH....we have been busy! Sooooo, I just haven't been on here, and my journal at http://www.lowcarbdicussion.com/ was deleted??:( I need to get over there and start a new one.

So lets see, since this blog started out as a diet blog, I'll share my stats so far.

I have gained 26.5 lbs so far. pretty good I think. I feel very fat, since I am 5'6 and now 196.5 lbs and holding steady there. I keep getting told I will lose 20 lbs by the time I leave the hospital, so I am looking forward to that head start, he he. I am trying to get my goals in order for after little JJ arrives. I plan to start right away, at least with low carb eating, no ketosis, and obviously no exercise for a few weeks or so til I heal, but I am already assessing how much I need to lose and trying to set goals. I am VERY excited not only to meet my son, but to get my body back, and begin this journey once again.

So here is my rough plan....

mental - set 10 lb goals and meet them one at a time. I'll also try not to be so hard on myself. This is where I always go wrong. If I don't lose as fast as I want or if I slip up, I beat myself to a pulp, and ruin my efforts. no more of that.

physical (when healed and ready) - get to the gym 5 days a week for some 40-60 minute hills on the treadmill. I have always had the most success with this as far as losing inches fast. Depending on time, with a new baby and all, I will try and add some weight time in there a couple days a week. Mainly squats and pushups, and any other good compound moves that work and save time. I belong to Planet Fitness now, but they don't offer child care, so I will probably leave them and join golds so they can watch JJ while I work out.

food - low carb all day. lots of fresh meats and veggies, salads and some good fats. I am not going to counrt carbs, and get tied up in that just yet. I will be focusing on breast feeding and staying healthy, but I will be cutting out the breads, rices and pastas. I eat them now, but only whole wheat, whole grain, brown rice, and shaws makes a YUMMY flax and grain bread now. So I will just cut those things and stick with protein, fats and veggies to start getting used to that way of eating. Once I am ready, and its safe, i will get more strict with counting carbs etc.

Ok so off the diet and onto the baby!

Here are some nursery pics, and 3D ultrasound!

22 Weeks and Counting! (and a rant)

Well its been quite awhile as usual since I have posted so I thought it was time.

I am 22 weeks preggo now. Did I post I was having a boy??!!??
YAY I am and I am sooooo excited!!

Ok, so Last week I FINALLY Started feeling my little man move.. how weird!
I gotta say it freaked me out at first, like a little alien that has taken up residence. Especially when up until that point you still haven't grasped the concept of having a baby growing inside you. So aside from the ultrasounds, that was what made it real to me finally. I am getting more used to it, and really looking forward to his little kicks and summersaults. :D
They say at some point you will feel your baby react to a loud noise. I hadn't until the other night. I went to bed and was lying down and my dog barked and I swear this little one did a backflip! It was so cool, until he wouldn't stop doing backflips and it was so bad it made me nauseous! LOL

So I am really showing now! I am posting a recent belly pic on my page too, but I feel big for 5.5 mos. Everyone knows I am pregnant and I get the "when are you due" question all the time now!
Its cool though I am past the stage where I could just have had too many Krispy Creams! he he he. I really look pregnant, and its funny how much attention that draws. wherever I go people are staring at my belly.

Ok lets see, jumping around here..
I got the flu last weekend. UGH! I lost 6 lbs in 2 days from all the vomiting, etc. But I feel better, and with the 6 lb loss I have only gained 13 lbs! WAHOO!! HA HA
My goal is to keep the gain between 15 and 25 lbs. thats whats recomended for my starting weight. If I watch what I eat as best I can and get some exercise I should do ok.

So the rant....
The father of my little one...

he left this morning to go ice fishing with his friends. Now, we heat our whole house with 2 wood stoves, So bringing wood in the house is a constant duty. I am almost 6 mos pregnant, and he leaves with like 2 peices of wood in the house. so I have to waddle my ass outside risking hurting myself and the baby to get wood so I don't freeze to death.
Then on top of that, he went into my purse and took my chapstick. Now, if you know me, you know I am a chapstick addict, and thats not really the point. the point is he knows that and was that selfish and inconsiderate to even venture into my purse in the first place, then to take something out that doesn't belong to him. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I actually sent him a text message yelling at him for it and said flat out, "your an asshole"
GRRRRRR I am so mad and trying so hard to get over it so I can get through my day without stress. I have this whole house to clean because its a pit, and now I have to deal with getting wood all day!!!
What stresses me out even more, is that when he gets home, instead of being happy to see him I am going to make him wish he didn't come home!
Breathe kim....ok....I am done.

Ok....So Thats all for today. Stay tuned for more! I have some stuff I want to blog about still....

toodles! :)

13 weeks - Hi all!

Hey gang!

Well I am still here just beiong lazy about getting online and really busy.

Doing great. Still waiting for the next appt Jan 9th and finding out if its a boy or girl! YAY

Just trying to get ready for Christmas and deal with all this snow! We have like 30 inches on the ground. I sink walking in it. LOL its pretty but when it melts we could have major flooding issues so I am just crossing my fingers it melts slowly.

Anyhoo, not much else. Just like I said anxiously awaiting Jan 9th and then June/July when I get to meet this little one.
I am not in maternity clothes yet, but my pants are definitely giving me a hard time these days.
LOL

Well I will be checking back in probably next Ultra sound since I am so bad about getting on here. :) Hope your all well and I will be back.......

10 Weeks today!

Hey all!

Its been a few weeks but I am still here and the baby is growing!
I had my first Appt with my OB yesterday and the Ultra sound.

Oh my goodness that was the most amazing thing! My little one was dancing up a storm and had a great heart beat, and looked awesome!
I posted my pics on this page and the bottom one you can really see the arms and legs and button where the cord is attached. So cute!
He/She is little more than an inch big.

My next appt is in 6 weeks so the next pics will be posted then and I may even know the sex!

So thats all. I feel great except the peeing has really picked up, and headaches have kicked in a bit. Otherwise I haven't been sick or anything. I did spend the last 2 weeks with NO patience and a very short fuse, but hormones will do that and I am getting better now. :)

Hope your all well and I will keep updating! Take care and be good!

Week 7 begins today!

I had my first appt yesterday with the nurse. Jason and I went and gave our family histories, etc. I gave blood and urine for tests. We started building my chart.
She also gave me a big binder of info, which is overwhelming but so exciting!!

I have gained about 10 lbs! OMG! I am horrified! I have not been eating well. I do add in the fruit and such but the pizza for a quick dinner, etc,. has to stop!
I am so stinking tired all the time, I have no energy to cook so when Jason gets a pizza and I am hungry, I eat it.
Maybe once I get my energy back come the 2nd trimester in 5 weeks, I will get it together since I will have the energy to prepare healthy meals, and lunches, etc.

So, I can't believe its really happening. Its still sinking in, but more so after the appt yesterday. I am excited, and scared and still in disbelief. I can't believe I am going to have a baby, and be a mom. Its so much to absorb right now. We have waited a very long year of trying to conceive so we are just in heaven!

Next appt is Nov 26th! I get to see my dr, and see the baby on ultra sound! That will really hit it home for me! I can not wait. 20 days away and believe me I am counting! :)

So thats it! I will update my belly pic soon, I want it to get a little bigger first. maybe at 8 weeks next week I will update it.

Be good my friends!

Almost week 6....

Well almost there. Thursdays are my milestones with a new week behind me.

I am very anxious still, I just want everything to be ok. I have my first appt a week from today and I really can't wait! I am still unsure that they are going to do anything to make sure the pregnancy is progressing normally, I think they just assume it is unless I report anything.

Hmmm, maybe I will say I have been having a lot of cramps and they will give me an ultrasound. LOL :) I am supposed to wait til my 2nd appt Nov 26th. UGH! I don't think I can wait that long I will go mad!

Ok thats all for now, Just going mad, worrying, and wishing I could just see the little heart beat.

Stay tuned!

5 weeks today!

WOO HOO!

One week down! Each week is excruciating for me. I am so worried about the risk of losing the baby, since its so common in the first trimester, that I just live in anticipation of each Thursday so I can count down another week til I hit the 2nd trimester.

So at 5 weeks, here is what my bambino looks like! (I hope it posts and I did it right!)

My first appt is November 6th, and I am praying that they give me an ultrasound. We should be able to see the baby's hear beat then, as I will be 6 wks, 5 days. We won't be able to hear it yet, but we could see it beating. How exciting would that be? Oh man I am still dreaming!

So my symptoms....

No Morning sickness yet. Knock on wood, but I think that usually shows up around 6wks so I could still be in for it. I have had slight waves of nausea, but thats it. Nothing serious.

Breasts - if you touch you die! They are so painful by the end of the day it hurts like hell to take off my bra. I think it may be time for a full coverage and support bra. They are already big enough LOL :) and now they feel like they weigh a ton. No more pretty demi cups I need relief ladies!!

YAWN! - I am still so tired! Its only getting worse and thats expected but also why I can't wait til the 2nd trimester when I am supposed to wake up one day with a new found energy. I will need it. I have soooo much to do around the house and right now..its not getting done.

Holy Road Atlas! - My veins have popped up to say hello ! On my chest, breasts, legs, and arms, man they are visible. Another common symptom, since my blood capacity will increase by 50% by the end of my pregnancy.

DUH - Yep I have what Jenny McCarthy calls the "Pregnancy Stupids"
I never thought it was true but believe me, suddenly you become and idiot who can't remember your own name (for those of you who have not been pregnant). Its crazy! There is a part in Jenny's book "Belly Laughs", well a whole chapter dedicated to this, where she describes a time she was driving and daydreaming about how forgetful she had become, and in the meantime drove a mile and a half past her house. HA HA HA!!! I tell ya thats me these days.
If you haven't read her book and are expecting, BUY IT! Its the funniest book I have ever read. Its a very easy read too, it took me like 2 hrs to read it.

Whaaaa! - Can you say Whiny! I am so whiny, I will cry if I run out of ranch dressing. Poor Jason (Fiance, I will refer to him by his name from now on), doesn't know what he is in for!

Can someone attach a toilet to my ass please ??!! I can not stop peeing! It doesn't help that I drink loads of water all day (which I must say is HUGE when pregnant!). Its keeping my skin clear and the water retention at bay. Plus you need like double the fluids (so I have read and heard), when pregnant.

Ok - I think thats it for now...

I will be updating again soon, probably at 6 weeks, next Thursday, or sooner if I have something good to share! Have a great week my friends :)

Still sinking in...

Well, this new focus is still sinking in.
I was not expecting to get pregnant this month, while we were trying, we didn't do a very good job. I guess thats just proof that it only takes one time, and the right timing, LOL :)

So What am I dealing with thus far? Mostly just extreme fatigue. I am so tired I don't know what to do with myself. Nausea is just slight waves but nothing serious yet. Breast tenderness...wholy cow! PAIN - ouch!

Anyway, its so early in this new trip I am venturing on, I know I have a lot in store coming soon. I am just trying to get through until my 1st appt Nov 6th. Its sooo far away!
I just keep worrying about losing the pregnancy because its very common this early on. Seeing the doc and getting the initial physical and blood work, etc will set my mind at ease and also make this all seem real. I feel like I am dreaming, its so strange.

So...as you can see my bog has taken on a new direction. No more weight loss, til after the baby is born, and no more kimkins (shutter). I hate that word.

Nothing but baby going on here, so if your interested in following my journey of pregnancy, pull up a seat and join me here.
:)

So...We did it!

The Hubby and I that is.....

We're finally pregnant! WOOO HOO!!!!

So needless to say I have to start eating more whole grains and such wich I have, moderately.

I have low carb flax/oat/wheat tortillas with Omega 3's and whole wheat couscous, etc.

Update....

Day 8 of CLEAN induction and down another 1.5 lbs from yesterday.

I think all the running is really helping too!

A word to the wise, no matter what diet your doing, exercise is essential!
Especially if you realize its not just about weight loss but your health. The benefits of even walking 30 min a day are endless AND it will help boost your loss.

So grab your kids or your dog and go for a walk!

here is an article on SOME benefits of exercise...but the list goes on!
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise/HQ01676

For me - it helped get me through quitting smoking by reinforcing the healthy new habbits I was trying to form, and discouraging the disgusting one I was trying to break.

I walked for ever! Last month I started to incorporate bursts of running in my walks (2 miles a day so far), and now I can run almost the whole way with minimal rests. Thats a big accomplishment for me since I never could run even as a child.

Even if you never exercised before get up and start somewhere! Your health depends on it, really!

Just the energy and natural high you feel afterward is worth it!

Ok enough pep talk!
Stay tuned....

October.....

I love the fall! Its my favorite time of year. The campfires, the fireplace fires, red wine BY the fire, LOL .
Its so crisp and beautiful in New England! You can't beat it!
Not only that, but getting out for a run is awesome! The weather couldn't be more perfect in the mid 60's and sunny. Yesterday I went and was so at peace.
Its a time when I can get outside. reflect on my day, unwind, destress, get in shape, feel great! The list of benefits goes on, and on. The scenery is gorgeous, along the river with the fall foliage.
You really get to appreciate all the beauty around you that we often take for granted while we are speeding along in our cars trying to get to work, or get home from work, or get the kids off to school. Its really a chance, for me anyway, to "stop and smell the roses" as the old saying goes.
To remind myself how very lucky I am to live among such beauty and peacefulness.

So, As you can see, I am thrilled that fall is here!

I am also seeing this month as a new beginning. An opportunity to put the summer and all its contents behind me that were less than desirable. I have put Kimkins behind me. I emailed their tech support, and strangely enough, they immediately responded with issue resolved. I demanded that after several personal emails to kimmer, that my subscription be cancelled, as I was still getting email notifications of posts to my old challenege and the newsletter, and basically, if they didn't see that it was taken care of immediately, I was suing for harassment. I contacted and attourney because I just couldn't take it anymore. I was banned from the forums yet, they are still notifying me of posts to that stupid challenge. It was aggravating to say the least. Well, it seems its been resolved and I am TOTALLY free of that site! WOOO HOOO! :)

I extended my Induction, because my first week wasn't so clean. So this week was perfectly clean, and I am down a total of 4 lbs. The challenge is awesome! I absolutely adore my teammates. You guys rock!
I am relaxed about losing the weight. Its coming off, I feel good, My hair is not falling out as much anymore, and my skin is glowing! That diet dried it out! Its healthy again, I am healthy again, and loving eating food and losing weight with the only side effect being the inches and lbs going each day, and a HIGH energy level!

So....I am in deep into my new permanent WOE, thats bringing me my much needed and desired weight loss....

Stay tuned for my next weigh in!

Thursday, September 27, 2007

Week 1 Down.....

Well Today is Day 7 since I started back on Atkins.

I didn't have the cleanest Induction, though, I did lose 3 lbs this week. YAY!!!

I caused myself a bit of a stall having some Michelobe Ultras Last weekend, and learned from that. ;)

We also started a Biggest Loser Challenge like the show over on my new forum.....www.lowcarbdiscussion.com.
Its going to be so fun and I can't wait. It starts monday and goes 8 weeks.

I went for a run yesterday. It was awesome! I felt great and can't wait to go again today. Hopefully its not thunderstorming.

Ok Christin is doing better and is home. She has a great new video post on her blog today everyone should check out here: http://the-journey-on.blogspot.com/
We are still praying for her, as she has more tests on her heart coming up, so please take a moment to say a prayer for her.

TRUTH - Still at it bringin down the Kimkins house! ya boy! lol http://thetruthinhiding.blogspot.com/

Well I really don't have much to blog about today. I keep hoping to come up with some incredibly useful info for you all - but hey...I can just keep posting links to my friends who have all the good stuff :)

KimkinsExposed Prays for Christin...

All - please see the post here http://kimkinsexposed.wordpress.com/2007/09/25/prayer-request/.

Please pray for Christin, that she will get better soon, and for her family to be strong and know we are all thinking of their wife and mother.

Thank you KimkinsExposed for posting this for us all.

Apologies....

It has been brought to my attention that through my posts I am attacking all Kimkins members, good or bad.

For anyone who follows the diet, and is a member, and has been successful, and at the same time, not Banned anyone, bashed naysayers, disrespected and talked trash about us, I am deeply sorry if you feel offended by my posts here. I really am!

Please understand that while I know I am on the WWW and do expect things to be taken all different ways, that, my lashing out, or posts about Kimkins, are no reflection on those of you that are good decent people who mean it when you say "friend" and don't bother those of us that left, and just do your thing.

My Anger and bashing is for those that banned me and my friends, that are snooping over at our new forum and banning people at Kimkins for what they say elsewhere. Those people like Delaney (singinglass), and TippyToes. For those like Gary (lasttimeforme), than banned me for no reason, as I NEVER spread any negativity and There are several people that saw my goodbye post and can attest to that. These people with nothing better to do than Kiss Kimmer/Heidi's ass.

To Vanessa,- I am really sorry that you were isulted in anyway. I do think your just the greatest and miss you terribly, and hope that if you do read my blog and see posts against Kimmer and Kimkins, that you know its not against you personally, but against Kimmer and those that do her dirty work.

Thanks for reading......

Monday Rambling....

Well its monday again. This is good and bad for me.
Good - I am much more likely to be a good girl diet wise during the week.
Bad - Its monday!

Ok so I was on plan all weekend! I was down another half lb on Saturday. Then I spent the day splitting and stacking wood, throwing around really heavy logs, and probably burned all carbs in my system, plus about 2000 calories! We literally went from 10am to about 6pm. Non stop except to grab a drink and bite to eat.

I was so crippled and tired and decided, even though it was going to slow my progress I would enjoy a couple low carb beers by the camp fire. We had a big bonfire, me and hubby that night.

So I did,. I had the beers. I ate on plan, stayed legal. But the beers totaled 18 carbs. UGH! I am only allowed 20 on induction, so needless to say I was soooo close to ketosis and now I am on day 1 again. Well - not really. I am technically, because beer and going over 20 grams of carbs a day is not induction legal, but I am just moving forward, instead of telling myself, "I blew it, and have to start over" I don't think there is a more discouraging thing you can say to yourself when you slip up, or choose to cheat.
The Thin Commandments has tought me new self speaking, that is encouraging and forgiving, NOT discouraging and critical. I will never again say "I blew it" and this is his exact advice in the book.

So, Day 5, I am down a total of 1.5 lbs since I started, I am still on track, and won't be doing any more drinking. I am not weighing again until Thursday. Thats the weigh in date I set for myself.

So - I bought these Jeans in a size 11 from Charlotte Russe. LOVE that store! I can get into them but they are tight and I have a bit of a muffin top, LOL :)

So My goal, my motivation, is to be able to "comfortably" wear them by Sunday Oct 7th. Thats 2 weeks away and I know I can lose enough inches by then to have a good fit.

Now.....Kimkins Rambles......

Another friend of mine has been banned. Her and I discussed a "friend" over there on our new home forum and all we said was that we believed she spoke with my banner (lasttimeforme/Gary) we were not sure we trusted her. You see, we had been trying to maintain friendship with this woman, but the Kimkins drama got in the way. She is an AVID supporter of fraudkins, and we are not. But we tried. So, somehow she saw or got wind of our chat in my new journal because she emailed us both saying how we can spread ugly thoughts about her if we want and bash her, but that she knows who she is and where she stands. Ok fine, but we really didn't bash anyone. We simply conversed on the possibility that she may be in cahoots with Mr. Ban Happy Gary.
Well not long after, BAM My dear friend was Banned.

Now this really bothers me because this is a woman (the banners friend) that runs all over the forum spreading cheer and support, and tells everyone she loves them, and that's all fine, but not so real I suspect, since we left and she turned on us. Well I won't be surprised if she is made admin very soon!! Congrats girl!

Kimkins is a Spell your under people! C'mon and get your head out of your asses please.

Kimmer/Heidi/whoeversheistoday - says if you modify the plan your not following Kimkins. OK! Great - the plan as followed makes people sick and lose their hair. Wake up folks! Its not people like you who have just basically been doing Atkins, by upping your fat and calories, (not Kimkins), that are losing hair. Its the ones that follow the diet to a T as Ms Fraudy pants says to do.

Stop defending a diet your NOT DOING!

So lets see what are you left with to stand on? NOTHING. The freak of nature Kimmer is a fraud, ok so you resort to yelling how we don't know how to follow the diet and make it work for us, but , thats not Kimkins, so really your doing Atkins and defending it?

Doesn't make much sense to me....but ok you go with that if it makes you sleep better at night supporting fraud and ripping people off. Sweet dreams! :)

Closing....

Happy Monday friends! :)

Atkins Induction Day 2....

I am down 2.5 lbs already. Thats awesome and I couldn't be more pleased! I know its water, but its 2.5 lbs so who cares! LOL :)

I feel pretty good. Much more satisfied, not rushed. Those GG Crisp Breads are a life saver. I am not even craving the carbs when I have those, they really are a godsend. I went to Whole Foods yesterday and bought like 6 packages, ha ha ha.

Well I joined a Challenge on my new forum, www.lowcarbdiscussion.com. Thank you Jimmy Moore for providing a safe landing for us all! Love you bunches!! YOUR THE MAN BABY!

The Challenge is to lose 20 lbs by halloween. Thats roughly 3 lbs per week, and so far on day 2 I am down 2.5 So I think I have a good head start!

I am getting back into running today. It's beautiful out and nothing was better for me mentally, or spiritually than going for a run along the river after work. Its the perfect ending to a LONG day and a LONG commute, so I know once I get back out there I will be addicted again. Its my private time to unwind and come back to center with myself. Not only that the stress relief is ridiculous! You can't beat that.

Well I think my shell has a crack in it, and I should be hatching soon :)

Back on track....

Well saying I have been distracted lately would be an understatement!!

From being banned from Kimkins for NOTHING to finding out it was someone I called a friend that did it, its been a rough ride.
I have been trying to transition to focusing on me and my new way of eating and living.
Its very hard though, which is why my posts are so scattered and eratic..."DEATH TO KIMKINS", wait, "NO NEGATIVITY, LETS BE POSITIVE" , WAIT DEATH TO KIMKINS!"

Its exhausting to say the least, but I guess its a phase I have to work through and work out of my system so it is what it is. *wink*

Ok, Well today I am back on Induction. I am all set to go with my foods, my mentality is in the right place and I begin the journey I came here for "again".

Gary and the others at kimkins can make fun all they want at my constant loss and regain. As far as I am concerned its pretty high school and immature of a grown man. We all have our struggles. Mine happens to be sticking with a loss plan. Its my mentality I can't get quite right and thats where I am hoping that Dr. Gullo is going to guide me to success. It really is nothing to make fun of though and I feel ashamed for Gary and any one else thats poking fun at me or my friends. At least we continued to be friends to eachother as real friends do right?

Well, anyway, on to losing some weight. I am not rushing it. Kimkins forced me to become obsessed with losing as fast as possible and that can't psychologically be healthy for anyone I don't think. Low Carb is a lifestyle Thats one of the most important lessons I am learning. Its not a quick fix crash slam diet. Its a lifestyle. You have your whole life to learn how to eat and nourish your body and lose weight along the way. Its a journey. Mine may be longer than some, but its mine, not theirs.

Happy Thursday friends! :)

Christin Helps us Transition!

Thank You Christin!

I just want to post a link here to Christin's blog. today she has a post on transitioning from Kimkins to HEALTHY Low carb eating for lifetime health and weight maintenance.

Christin, thanks for all that you have done, all you do, and continuing to help us all through this tough time!
